Scope and Contents of the Papers
The Everett St. John Papers are composed of the plans for the various marine instruments and small craft designed by St. John, as well as his correspondence, research, and other related papers. The Papers series contains the correspondence, a patent for the St. John Cleat, an application for a boating license, a membership card to the Steam Automobile Club of American, a manuscript of an article by St. John, some drawings and photographs of small watercraft, and various brochures about watercraft that were possibly used in St. John’s research. The Plans series contains marine instrument and small craft designs by St. John, as well as one design by Wiliam Atkin and on oversized design by C. Raymond Hunt.
