Commemorative TITANIC Artifacts Exhibit Envelope Signed by Millvina Dean, 20 April 1991
Abstract
A Swedish event cover envelope postmarked April 20, 1991 commemorating the TITANIC Artifacts Exhibition in Stockholm and signed by Millvina Dean. Millvina Dean was the youngest of TITANIC's survivors, just two months old when her family boarded the ship as Third Class passengers. They intended to emigrate from England to Wichita, Kansas. She and her mother and older brother survived, but her father died in the sinking. Millvina's mother took her children back to England after the disaster. Millvina Dean was also the oldest surviving passenger before her death in 2009. The envelope has an image of the TITANIC, with a caption that says 9th March-20th April 1991/ TITANIC Ventures U.S.A. The stamp is of the Swedish 17th century warship VASA and was issued in 1990 to commemorate the opening of the Vasa Museum in Stockholm.
