TITANIC photo autographed by survivor Edwina MacKenzie, 16 April 1982
Abstract
A glossy photo of TITANIC autographed on the back by Edwina MacKenzie, a survivor of the disaster. She was travelling to the U.S., where her sister was pregnant and needed help. She travelled in Second Class. After the iceberg collision, Edwina MacKenzie alerted others and helped them prepare to evacuate, watching lifeboat after lifeboat depart. It was only when someone handed her a baby who had become separated from its mother that she agreed to board a lifeboat herself. The message on the back of the photo says "1982/Edwina MacKenzie/Saved in lifeboat 13/April 15th 1912. A separate message says "Smooth sailing/Rustie Brown/ 4/16/82. There is an accompanying slip of paper that describes the photo as TITANIC leaving Southampton and describing the disaster.
