Brochure advertising 1st Class on "The Queens"
Abstract
A brochure advertising first class travel from New York to Europe on the QUEEN MARY and QUEEN ELIZABETH. The photographs are in full color and, compared to earlier advertising, they are full of people. There are glamorous people in the dining room and dancing, people in staterooms, a businessman dictating to a female shipboard secretary in uniform, and women on deck and at the swimming pool and beauty parlor. The cover is purple and blue with a large stylized "Q." Undated, but probably from the late 1950s or 1960s. There is a reference to the fin stabilizers that were added in the mid-1950s and several references to the ships being older and the competition from jet travel.
