Abstract
This collection assembled by L.F. Middlebrook is comprised of port and customs papers, miscellaneous bills, and foreign clearance documents for vessels engaged in the rum and molasses trade from Middletown to the West Indies. Items are organized by vessel name, and ten vessels are represented.

Biography of Louis F. Middlebrook
Louis F. Middlebrook (b. 1866), of Middletown, Connecticut, was a scholar of the maritime history of colonial Connecticut and the early Republic. He was an early member of the Marine Historical Association, now Mystic Seaport Museum.
