Collection of correspondence and business papers of Stephen B. Chace. Includes a logbook (1812) of the ship VALENTINE, under Chace's command, on a voyage from Port Louis, Mauritius to Canton, China, and then towards Providence, RI; two ledgers (1810-1814) containing business and ships' accounts; account book (1817-1820) with Merchants Bank of New York City; letters from Chace to his wife, in Somerset, Massachusetts, and Jonathan Bowen, merchant in Newport, Rhode Island; and bill of lading.
