H. Prescott Shreeve Papers
Scope and Contents
The H. Prescott Shreeve papers include the Rules and Bylaws of the Eastern Ice Yachting Association and its member club, the Lake Hopatcong Ice Yachting Club. The collection also includes correspondence to H. Prescott Shreeve while he was president of the organization, newsletters of the Eastern Ice Yachting Association, maps of Lake Hopatcong and Lake Greenwood, where club members sailed, announcements of club meetings, notes taken by Shreeve at those meetings, drawings of vessels made by Shreeve, sales brochures for ice yachting companies, safety brochures, and newspaper and magazine clippings about ice yachting and ice yacht races. Information about races is limited to these clippings, one set of race scores, and entry forms. The EIYA newsletters provide the gretest information about club activities. Mailing lists of the club are restricted from user access. The bulk of the material dates from the late 1960s.
