Abstract
The tug ENTERPRISE of Philadelphia, PA, was disabled near Duck Island, CT, on Jan. 31, 1914, while towing the schooners. The JOHN GILMORE sank and was raised by the Scott Company. The others were towed to their destination. On Feb. 14, 1915, the ENTERPRISE sank in New Haven Harbor after being rammed by the steamer YORK. The tug was owned by C.L. Walker, Philadelphia, PA, and was chartered to the John Beattie Estate, Leetes Island, CT, which also owned the schooners. Includes correspondence,...
