Biographical / Historical

Franklin A. Park, a graduate of the University of Michigan, was a naval architect and marine engineer. Included in the collection are original drawings by Mr. Park, model making templates, drawings by other vessel designers, and drawings published by commercial ship model companies. The plans for small rowing and sailing craft date from circa 1916 to 1964. The ship model plans represent vessels, including military, from the 19th century. These plans are from the personal collection of Mr. Park and were donated by his widow, Mrs. Franklin A. Park, in 1982.
