Office removed from interior Sept. 1966 - repairs made on the forges, tools removed that were not 19th century.; 1973 designed and installed to bring heavy iron into forge chimney on back berth rebuilt to accommodate this.; Chain plates set for L.A. DUNTON forged by Gene Patten ($823.54 from Blair Fund).; Nov. 5, 1973 work will commence to shore up and align shop. Work will consist of latching the front forge chimney down below the roof line, jacking up the East side, installing a proper foundation and replacing sills as necessary. The shop will be closed to the public during this work. Eventually the front forge will be completely demolished and rebuilt.
