History of Whitney, Cushing & Company (Boston, Mass.)

Whitney, Cushing & Company was a Boston shipping firm headed by James E. Whitney and Lawrence B. Cushing. By the 1880s the partnership had ended and Whitney continued in business on his own. The record book indicates the firm carried on a large and active trade between Boston and Culcutta, India.
