Abstract

The collection has been organized chronologically including letters from Hobart regarding the disposition of vessels and cargo; miscellaneous accounts, receipts, and business agreements; instructions to shipmasters; copies of cargo invoices; accounts of cargo sales; and expenses for construction, repair, and outfitting of various vessels. The papers also covey Hobart's difficulties in the West Indies trade during the French and Indian War (1754-1763.)
