William H. Webb Collection
The William H. Webb collection consists of a selection of folio plates removed from a copy of the book "Wooden Vessels built by William H. Webb in the City of New York, 1840-1869." Plates depict commercial, military and recreational designs by William H. Webb and vessel designs by other naval architects including Henry Eckford and Samuel Humphreys as well as non-vessel material.
William J.H. Pollard papers
William L. Crothers Collection
Papers and volumes resulting from Crothers extensive research into the history, use and details of flags as used by the American merchant marine. Includes a "Directory of Private Signals Flown by American Merchant Sail" which contains an index of colored flags. The collection also includes two illustrated volumes detailing the history of the flag hoist signal system, as well as the related correspondence and references upon which Mr. Crothers based his work.
William P. Stephens Collection
The collection consists of miscellaneous papers, correspondence, notes, clippings, pamphlets, and specifications relative to the yachting activities of W. P. Stephens. Included is a series of specifications for approximately 500 boats which are arranged alphabetically by the boat's name.

This small collection is essentially the business papers of William Smyth, created during his time at the Dauntless and Mystic Shipyards, 1927-1971. Included are yard financial reports, meeting notices, clippings, and business correspondence, all arranged in chronological order.
