Burgess-Donaldson Collection
Plans produced by W. Starling Burgess from the mid-1920's to the mid-1930's while working in several partnerships. Plans are primarily for sailing yachts, and some one design classes are represented, including M class sloops and 12 meters. Drawings for the America's Cup defenders ENTERPRISE (1930) and RAINBOW (1934) are included.
Charles D. Mower Collection
Mower's original drawings for yachts in power and sail, including sloops, yawls, cat boats, schooners, ketches, cutters, and power launches. Some one design classes are included, as well as vessels published as "How To Build" designs in Rudder magazine.
Charles D. Schock Collection
This collection includes plans for both motor and sailing yachts as well as plans drawn and collected by Edson B. Schock and Edson I. Schock. Designers represented include John G. Alden, Eldredge-McInnis, Inc., Frederic S. Nock, A. Cary Smith and Sparkman & Stephens, Inc. For information on other plans by the Schocks, refer to Ships Plans collections Edson B. Schock and Edson I. Schock (Collection 49) and Schock Family (Collection 123).
Cox & Stevens, Inc. Collection
The collection contains plans for watercraft in all sizes, sail and power, commercial and recreational. Some wartime work and military conversions of yachts are also included as well as work collected from other designers. This material complements the time line of the material contained within the Philip L. Rhodes collection (Collection 80).
Edson B. Schock and Edson I. Schock Collection
This collection contains tracings made by Edson B. Schock and Edson I. Schock from original plans by A. Cary Smith and other designers. For information on other plans by the Schocks, refer to Ships Plans Collections 113 (Charles D. Schock) and 123 (Schock Family).
Eldredge-McInnis, Inc. Collection
The plans in this collection are primarily for tenders, power cruisers, commercial fisherman, stock boats, and government watercraft. The work of some other designers is also represented. Cataloging of this collection is still in progress.
Henry A. Scheel Collection
Plans of Henry A. Scheel's yacht designs. Some waritme work as well as reference plans of other designers are included.
Henry B. Nevins, Inc. Shipyard Collection
Designs for yachts built by Henry B. Nevins, Inc. Designers include George F. Crouch, Charles D. Mower, Clinton H. Crane, Frederick M. Hoyt, Henry J. Gielow, Inc., Tams & King, Inc. and William Gardner & Co.
Henry M. Devereux Collection
This collection consists primarily of yachts and recreational vessels in sail and power. Mr. Devereux's commercial work is also represented, as well as the work of other designers.
L. Francis Herreshoff Collection
The L. Francis Herreshoff collection consists of designs for racing and cruising yachts, canoes, kayaks and other small craft that Herreshoff produced as an independent designer. The collection also includes early work for W. Starling Burgess and illustrations from Norman L. Skene's book "Elements of Yacht Design," as well as plans from other designers.
