This collection contains business and personal papers, scrapbooks, clippings, and an unfinished biography of Sargent by his son, Redford Ames Sargent. Included is a journal kept by Redford Ames Sargent aboard the ship THOMAS DANA of Boston during a voyage 1888-1889.

Biography of Redford Webster Sargent

Redford Webster Sargent (1884-1901) was a ship master from Kittery, Maine. He was involved in commercial trade from Philadelphia to Liverpool, and later with British steamships in the Bombay trade, and with American Line steamers out of Philadelphia.
