Abstract

This collection is composed of post cards, clippings, and articles pertaining to American and foreign lighthouses. Included is a typed volume which presents the history of various lighthouses in America, England, Australia, and Canada. A limited amount of material on lightships is also included.

The back explains that this photo was "taken shortly after her arrival in new York from the rescue ship R.M.S. Carrpathia." Postcard with the autograph of Frank J. Goldsmith, who survived the TITANIC sinking at age 9. His family was emigrating from the UK to the US. His mother Emily Goldsmith also survived the sinking, but his father Frank died. On the card, beneath the signature, he has written "3rd Class Survivor." The image is a painting of TITANIC made by artist E.W. Bearman. The card explains that the painting was presented to the TITANIC Enthusiasts of America in 1969.
